Prices of Farm Produce Keep Steady and Prices of Production Means Increase Slightly

china Farm produce pricesMOFCOM. According to the monitoring of MOFCOM, the market price index of edible agricultural products was steady and means of production increased 0.2% over the previous week (August 15-21).

The average price of 30 kinds of vegetables increased 0.9% over the previous week, with the prices of zucchini, spinach, and lettuce up 9.6%, 7.6% and 5.4 % respectively. The price of meat fluctuated, with the prices of pork and mutton down 0.4% and 0.2% respectively over the previous week and that of beef down 0.4%. The prices of poultry and eggs fluctuated, with those of eggs and chicken up 1.9% and 0.1% over the previous week and that of duck down 0.2%. The price of edible oil remained stable, with the prices of rapeseed and peanut oil staying the same as those of the previous week, and the price of soybean oil going up 0.1% week on week. The price of grain food remained stable, with the prices of rice and flour remaining the same as the previous week. The average price of aquatic products went down 0.6% over the previous week, with the prices of crucian, grass carp and small yellow croaker down 1.5%, 1.1% and 0.6% respectively.

The price of steel went up 1.5% over the previous week, with the prices of galvanized sheet, box iron, high speed wire rod and deformed steel bar up 1.9%, 1.8%, 1.5% and 1.3% respectively over the previous week. The prices of basic chemical raw materials increased 0.5%, with those of caustic soda, sulfuric acid, pure benzene and sodium carbonate up 1.3%, 0.6%, 0.2% and 0.1% respectively, and that of methanol remaining the same as the previous week. The price of coal went up 0.2% week on week; with the prices of both steam coal and coking coal going up 0.2%, and that of blind coal remaining the same as the previous week. The price of rubber increased 0.1%, with those of natural rubber up 0.1% and synthetic rubber remaining unchanged. The price of non-ferrous metal decreased 0.1%, with those of nickel, copper, tin and zinc going down 1.6%, 0.6%, 0.3% and 0.2% respectively, and those of aluminum and lead up 0.8% and 0.2% respectively. The price of chemical fertilizer went down 0.2%, with that of urea down 0.3% and those of KIC, DAP and NPK all down 0.2% respectively.
